The Ministry of Agriculture with support from the Rice Committee Seeks to Build collaboration with Rice Importers aims at working of impoters to support the Local rice production values chain activities.

Purpose

Today, a team lead by The Minister of Agriculture, Alexander Nuiteh and Chairman of the Rice Committee, Ambassador Charles Minor, visit the processing plant of one of the Rice Importers, Supplying West Africa Traders, (SWAT) on the Japanese highway, in Jacob's Town, and their parkaging plant in Freeport of Monrovia. The Liberia Rice Committee (LRC) plays a vital role in regulating rice importation, ensuring fair pricing, and maintaining quality standards. It supports local farmers by providing training, improved seeds, and resources to boost domestic rice production. Additionally, the LRC promotes research, innovation, and policy development to enhance food security and create a sustainable rice industry in Liberia.
